Because it's hopeless, isn't it?

Here's a motivational tip to get you started:  When you rev up your metabolism and get it under control (instead of it controlling you) you'll look better, feel better and be the happiest than you've been in a long time

Improving your metabolic rate does require a little bit of effort, planning and confidence in yourself to do the right things and eat the right way. Then, landing that body of your dreams is a piece of cake. Here's how:

5 Steps to make your body is better

1- Within one hour of waking up, have a nutritious breakfast. Before doing anything else, drink a glass of cold water. Cold water requires your body to work harder than water that is at room temperature. Pair that with high protein and high fiber, such as a hard boiled or scrambled eggs, fruit (strawberries or blueberries are a great fiber choice and low in calories) or a piece of whole wheat toast with peanut butter or almond butter.

2- Eat heaviest in the morning, moderately at lunchtime, and lightest at dinner. If you love your carbs, you're not alone. But, if you don't want your carbs to affect your waistline, reserve them for the earlier part of your day which will give your body more time to burn them off. For lunch, go a bit lighter (lean cuts of beef or chicken on a salad, sandwich or wrap) and make dinner a great opportunity to eat a satisfying meal without feeling stuffed. Have you gotten your fish allotment for the week in yet? Halibut, shrimp or tilapia are great pairings with vegetables, whole grain rice or a small potato.

3- Exercise a minimum of three times a week. Your body will begin changing when you add exercise into your routine. Not sure you can do it? Of course you can. You'll already changing your eating habits, and exercise is the next step. Remember, you are not your past. Focus on the present moment and the joy you experience of moving your body three times a week, with at least thirty minutes in each session.

4- Make your drinks cold and your meals small but frequent.  When you pack your glass of water with ice, your body works harder to warm itself up, and as a result you'll have a higher metabolic rate, which means you'll also have weight loss success in no time at all! Focus on small meals (light breakfast, lunch and dinner along with two snacks throughout the day) and it will never allow your body to go in ‘starvation mode' which is ultimately what happens when you skip meals. Miss breakfast or lunch and you're not only likely to feast at dinner time but you'll have a slower metabolism because of it.

5- Cut 100 calories a day. Where health experts to recommend cutting out 100 calories a day from your daily calorie intake. Why? Because metabolic supplements can be expensive, and you can actually create the same effects of a pill with reducing your calories on your own. Eat half of a turkey sandwich instead of the whole thing; forego the second helping of chips and the baked potato in favor of another dish of steamed veggies.

When you allow your body to be nourished instead of starved, you increase your metabolism, and at the same time, nourish your own soul. Be good to yourself, and start by what goes inside, in order to feel more amazing on the outside.
